FREE TREE SHOP A UNIT OF "ONE TREE BY ONE PERSON" LAUNCHED

Bangalore: Free Tree Shop, a unit of One Tree by One Person was opened on 05-03-2014 in the Magnifique Public School campus, Kanakapura Main Road. Through the Free Tree Shop, free saplings will be provided to the people and also a database would be created to keep information about the number of saplings that are distributed and planted through One Tree by One Person. The recipients of the saplings are not just requested to plant but also  encouraged to take care of them till adulthood.

A large number of people had participated in the event. Environmentalist and Founder of One Tree by One Person U.S. Moinuddin said in his speech, “Global warming is a serious problem, if not taken seriously; it can create adverse effects for the humans in the long run. Also, we will be starting a large number of Free Tree Shops, to encourage tree planting in different cities, town and other countries too.”

About 1000 Silver Oak, Honge, Jack Fruit, Mahagony, Neem and other varieties of saplings were freely distributed in the event.

The chief guest for the event was Geeta Shankar, the founder of Omashram Old Age Home. She said in her speech, “It will be wonderful if people can present saplings instead of bouquets during birthday parties, and other functions.”

 Grand Master MH Abid, the President of Muay Thai India said, “They say that God has made heaven beautiful and he has left human beings to make the earth more beautiful by planting trees. One Tree by One Person is a very realistic idea of making the earth Greener.”

B.R. Gopinath the founder secretary of K.V. Subbanna Aptha Rangamandira a well known auditorium and cultural centre said, “Moinuddin has ventured towards a great dream which can easily scare the toughest of humans. We should all support the mission in making our country and the earth greener.”

CRP of Vajarahalli cluster S. Ambika who is an ardent support of One Tree by One Person also participated in the event and promised to promote the cause across the schools in Bangalore.

Vice Chairman of Kaggalipura Grama Panchayat Ghousia Begum, Sub Editor of Hosa Minchu Kannada monthly magazine Jagannath, Secretary of   Umarbagh Welfare Association Kaleemulla Shariff, Secretary of IRFTrust Syed Naseeruddin, Dr. Imtiaz, Motivational trainer Syed Ali and others were also present in the event.
